Sonia at Monkey Joe's

Today, since the weather was yucky (cold, rainy, windy), we met some friends at Monkey Joe's in Wheaton. Monkey Joe's is one of those indoor play places that has a bunch of inflated bouncy thingamajiggies in which kids jump and fall over and bounce and crash into each other.... We heard that Monkey Joe's had a little toddler bouncy area for kids 3 and under, and while that still sounded like it might be a bit rough for Sonia and her pre-walker buddies, we thought we'd give it a try. BOY, did Sonia love it! This little goofball could not stop smiling and laughing. She crawled around all of the blow-up obstacles (like a sea serpent, a swordfish, and a turtle) and would occasionally pause to get up on her knees and smack a crocodile while bellowing and screeching like a crazed monkey.

Sonia thought it was hilarious that she could fall over and do faceplants without really hurting herself. I have to be careful not to take her to Monkey Joe's too often lest she forget that the ground in most of the world is pretty darn solid!

Silly me-- I had taken one look at the toddler bouncy area and guessed that Sonia might be a bit overwhelmed.... Not so much! Shows how much I know. I still think I like Little Monkey Bizness better, but Monkey Joe's was pretty darn fun for The Great Sosini.

6 more days until Sonia turns 1!

Sounds like it should have been named "Monkey Sonia's"! Isn't it fun to see her so excited and adventurous? Next place to conquer -- Chuck E. Cheese's!!!

That is definitely a fun place! Pufferfish loved it when she was a baby, and she loves it even more now that she can climb around with the big kids!
