Sonia's baptism and first visit to ND

This past Sunday (September 27th), Sonia got baptized at Notre Dame's Basilica of the Sacred Heart. It was such a beautiful ceremony in such a beautiful setting! Even the weather cooperated. Thank goodness, too, because the Murray kids and Charlotte had a blast playing outside before and after the ceremony!

Sonia's godparents are Mike "Gonzo" Gonzalez and Emily Buser-Gonzalez, two of our dearest friends. Father Joseph Carey, a longtime resident and rector of Dillon Hall (now living in Ryan Hall, the brand-new women's dorm), presided over the baptism. Other than calling Sonia by the wrong name ("Sophia") a couple of times and pouring the holy water in her eyes (!!), he was great.

My Aunt Janet (Sonia's great-aunt) sewed Sonia's gown, and it turned out truly exquisite. Thank you again, Aunt Janet! Sonia looked gorgeous in her gown.

There's nothing like a costume and diaper change on the lawn in front of the Dome! Jennifer Longworth crocheted this lovely white afghan to be Sosi's christening blanket.
