Sonia's Great-Aunt Janet

Sosinini has the coolest great-aunt ever: my mom's little sis, Janet. Even though I wasn't lucky enough to live in the same town (or usually even the same state!) as her while I was growing up, I always thought of Aunt Janet as a second mom. I love how close she and my mom are.... I think they might be the only other two sisters I know of who call each other as much or more than my sister and I do! Anyway, my beautiful, smart, sweet Aunt Janet is a fantastic seamstress, and for Sonia's birthday (which is only 9 days away!!!), she sewed two of the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen-- well, other than Sonia's out-of-this-world christening gown (also made by Aunt Janet!), that is. I called Aunt Janet to thank her for the dresses, and she gave me permission to let Sonia wear them before her birthday. Behold-- dress #1:

(at the park with the Olejniks)

(at the arboretum with Sandra & Val)

The fabric is so adorable-- daisies and ladybugs. So perfect for the Sosinini! I haven't had a chance for her to wear her second dress yet (they just came in the mail on Friday), but I promise I will post pictures when it is debuted.

We love you, Aunt Janet! Oh, and by the way, congratulations on your newest grandbaby, Lily! You look like such a loving grandma in this picture.... Lily and your other two granddaughters are very lucky kids to have you as their "gramma"!

In other Sonia news, she cut tooth #6. Tooth #7 is hanging out just beneath the surface, so it should be appearing soon. Also, Sonia is currently obsessed with opening and closing doors. She thinks it's hilarious to open and close the baby gate at the top of the stairs while I sit on the top step, attempting to teach her how to crawl down the stairs backwards.

Sonia thinks it's funny to hang out by Marge while Marge watches the golfers across the street.

She learned this nose-wrinkling "snooty" face from a kid at playgroup. I didn't catch her in full nose-wrinkle, but you get the general idea....

I love my little goofball!
